Advancing Space Policy for a Responsible Future
Our Story, Mission, and Values
The Free Space Initiative is an independent, early-stage policy project focused on the ethics and governance of space activity, particularly in relation to the Outer Space Treaty, and the rapid expansion of private actors.
It was established by Teddy Crick, a Postgraduate student with a background in environmental ethics and sociology, with the aim of examining space as a global commons and the implications of increasing private sector involvement.
The initiative is grounded in principle that space is a shared domain, and that its exploration and use should be conducted in a responsible, equitable and peaceful manner.
